Our Services
Individual Therapy
Individual therapy refers to therapy sessions conducted one-on-one between you and your therapist in a private setting, either in-person or through telehealth. Individual therapy allows you to freely explore your thoughts and feelings with the guidance and support of your therapist. For military service members and veterans, individual therapy is crucial to managing the unique stressors brought on by military life, which can lead to mental health challenges such as post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), anxiety, and depression.
We offer individual therapy sessions from 45 minutes to 1 hour. We use a variety of evidence-based techniques, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), mindfulness, and solution-focused therapy. The type of therapy conducted in your individual therapy sessions will depend on your specific needs and objectives.
Family Therapy
Family therapy focuses on the entire family system and involves multiple family members attending therapy sessions together. Family relationships may become strained by various aspects of military life, such as absence by the military service member due to deployment, frequent relocation, difficulties adjusting to a new environment, or loss or disability of the military service member.
Family therapy sessions provide a space for families to address these challenges, and we can help adults and children 13 years of age or older (with the consent of their guardian). Family therapy can include parents, children, siblings, and other close family members. Family therapy sessions typically last 45 minutes to 1 hour, and you and your family work toward the goal of improving the overall functioning and well-being of the family unit by addressing patterns of interactions, communication issues, and conflict resolution.
Couples Therapy
Couples therapy is a type of therapy where you and your partner work to address relationship issues, improve communications, and strengthen your bond with the guidance of a therapist. For military service members, stress from deployments, long-distance separation, frequent relocation, adjustment to life after deployment, and the emotional impact from military experiences can be especially difficult for committed relationships.
Couples therapy sessions, typically 45 minutes to 1 hour in length, are tailored to meet your unique relationship needs and may involve both joint and individual work to ensure each partner feels heard and supported. Using proven therapeutic approaches, such as emotionally-focused therapy, the Gottman Method, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), and Imago relationship therapy, we can help you and your partner develop healthier communication patterns, resolve conflicts more effectively, rebuild trust after a breach, or foster greater emotional intimacy.
